Q3 is in the books. Here are the numbers.
+13.5% gross return. 8.5% maximum drawdown.
That's Sovereign Prosperity's result for the quarter ended September 30, 2026. It comes from live trading on the professional side of the currency market - not backtests, not simulations.
Let's unpack what the numbers mean, what changed in how we report them, and what drove the quarter.
The numbers, in plain English
The 13.5% is a gross return. That's performance before performance fees. After a 50% performance fee, the net return to investors is 6.75%.
Here's the part we're happiest about. Q2 delivered +6.46% net with a 10.21% maximum drawdown. Q3 delivered +6.75% net with a drawdown of 8.5%. Slightly more return, noticeably less pain along the way. That's the direction we want risk and reward to move together.
Returns alone mean very little if excessive risk was needed to produce them. That's why we show drawdown right next to return, every time. A strategy that earns well while staying controlled is far more useful than one that swings wildly to land on the same number.
One honest note. A single quarter is just that - a single quarter. It tells you how the work went over three months, not what the next three will bring.
A change in how we report returns
You'll notice something different from this quarter onward. We now report returns gross, before performance fees.
The reasoning is simple. Performance fees only apply to profit. If a quarter ever turns negative, a "net of performance fees" figure can't be shown on the same basis as the profitable ones. That would distort the historical graphs and make quarter-to-quarter comparisons less meaningful.
Gross return is also the more accurate measure of raw performance. It shows what the trading itself produced, with nothing layered on top.
We'll keep stating the net equivalent alongside it, so nobody has to do the math. Transparency isn't optional here.
What moved the markets in Q3
Q3 2026 was shaped by three big themes.
Joint US-Japan yen intervention. With the yen sliding toward multi-decade lows, Japan and the US stepped in together at the start of August. It was the first joint yen-buying operation since 1998. USD/JPY dropped sharply within days.
The Fed turns hawkish. The dollar's June highs faded over the summer. Then the Federal Reserve raised rates by 25 basis points in September, to a target range of 3.75%-4.00%. Markets read it as higher-for-longer, and rate expectations were repriced across the major currencies.
Oil and the Iran conflict. Oil swung between peace hopes and renewed supply fears, feeding directly into inflation expectations and commodity-linked currencies.
Each of these moved currencies fast. Each one rewarded preparation over reaction.
For most people, that's a stressful list of headlines. For a professional currency trader, it's a quarter full of opportunity - and, to be straight about it, full of risk too.
Why prediction is the edge
Every trade is a prediction. Profitability comes down to who makes the better ones.
Professional trading is, at its core, the business of predicting where currency markets are heading and positioning ahead of it. Execution, sizing and discipline all matter. But none of them can rescue a poor read. The quality of the prediction is the single most important factor behind profitability.
Take the yen intervention. To much of the market, it was a headline shock. To a professional read, it wasn't. A currency sliding to multi-decade lows, a persistent policy gap, and authorities with every reason to act leave a trail. That trail is visible well before the move arrives.
To be clear, prediction here means reading probabilities, not claiming certainty. Any individual call can be wrong, and no forecast is guaranteed. The edge comes from making better calls than the market on average, and doing it repeatedly.
What we don't do is chase what retail traders chase: headlines, hot takes, and whatever moved five minutes ago. Headlines tell you what already happened. Prediction is about what happens next.
Built for the long game
We don't believe in chasing unsustainable short-term gains. A month of +100% isn't investing - it's speculation. Our goal is different: grow capital deliberately, keep drawdowns controlled, and let time do the heavy lifting.
That takes patience, and it takes saying no to a lot of noise. The market is crowded with unrealistic promises and social-media trading claims. Staying grounded in reality is itself an advantage.
Q3 didn't need fireworks. It needed a clear read of a messy market and the discipline to act on it consistently. That's the pattern we're building: strong returns, controlled drawdowns, and capital growth measured in years rather than weeks.
Thank you to everyone who trusts Sovereign Prosperity with their capital. We're not done. Not even close.

Past performance is not indicative of future results. Forex trading carries a high degree of risk, including the potential loss of some or all invested capital.
